ABOUT THE INTERIOR DESIGNER
Joan Wilson Wert is our Registered Interior Designer. She graduated honours in 1989 from a 3-year full-time course in Interior Design at the International Academy of Merchandising & Design in Toronto. She is a member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario). Joan is also a member of IDC (Interior Designers of Canada). Membership requires completion of North American exams that are written after having 7 years of combined schooling and experience in the Interior Design Field. This ensures and informs the public that they are working with a Qualified Interior Designer. ARIDO letters define that.
Interior Designers must also carry liability insurance as part of their membership. New regulations to the Ontario Building Code require that Designers write exams and become qualified with a Building Code Identification Number. It will be required when submitting plans to the building departments for permits.
